ZMR launches Touch Motor in Africa: a smart pod system designed for the new tech-driven African generation
Launched in March 2026 on Africa’s major urban markets, in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa, Touch Motor combines modular design, touchscreen control and social connectivity, opening new business opportunities for African retailers.
Nairobi, Kenya – ZMR today announced the highly anticipated launch of Touch Motor, a next-generation pod system that will enter the African market in March 2026. Designed for the dynamic, tech-savvy youth of the new Africa, Touch Motor combines cutting-edge technology, sustainable performance and a socially connected experience, redefining modern vaping.
Touch Motor introduces a unique front-to-back detachable structure, allowing users to replace the 10 ml pod module while keeping the 1000 mAh battery module with screen. The magnetic lock delivers a robust “cartridge”-style experience, significantly extending the product’s lifespan and increasing repurchase frequency, while offering retailers a high-value product with predictable long-term demand.

At the heart of the device is a 2.4-inch full IPS touchscreen with an intuitive curved-swipe interface, displaying real-time battery level, puff mode and time. With three adjustable power modes — Light, Balance and Boost — users can easily personalise their experience, while retailers benefit from a genuine upselling opportunity through differentiated performance levels.
In addition, Touch Motor is available in 10 signature colours and 10 flavours, allowing consumers to express their identity and preferences — a cultural trend growing strongly across major African urban markets. The device also connects to the ZMR app via Bluetooth, enabling VIP users to interact with nearby friends, share experiences and access member-exclusive benefits. This creates a distinctive social dynamic that fosters loyalty, repeat purchases and word-of-mouth to the benefit of retailers.
ZMR places as much emphasis on value for money as on innovation. Thanks to its long-lasting 10 ml pod, efficient power system and reusable battery module, Touch Motor stands out as one of the most economical premium pod systems in the region, particularly suited to markets where economic value and durability are key purchasing criteria.
Safety remains central to ZMR’s mission. Touch Motor incorporates a child safety lock, protection against leaks, short circuits, overuse, overcharging and low battery. Clear on-screen information enhances user transparency and encourages responsible use reserved for adults. The product is intended exclusively for adult smokers aged 18 and over.
“Touch Motor embodies ZMR’s commitment to creating concrete value for Africa’s distribution ecosystem,” said ZMR’s Africa Regional Director. “We offer retailers a differentiated premium product and give young adult consumers a new way to express their identity and connect with one another. That is our vision for the new Africa: technology that brings people closer together, responsibly.”
Touch Motor will be officially available from March 2026 and will be launched across three key markets — Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa — starting with major cities and their surrounding areas, before expanding distribution through selected partners and points of sale. ZMR is now welcoming distributors and retail partners across Africa.
