About — who we are, our method, our transparency

Who we are

lesafriques.com is an economic news outlet dedicated to Africa, published by ZB Publishing LLC and aimed primarily at the French-speaking diaspora. We publish practical guides and analyses on topics that directly affect those living between two continents: salaries, money transfers, investment, real estate, visas, and the economic life of African countries.

Our mission

To help the diaspora make better decisions with reliable information. In practice: comparing money transfer services, quantifying average salaries by country, explaining investment rules and the legal framework for real estate, and breaking down visa procedures. Everything is designed to be actionable, not just informative.

Our method: verified data, not approximations

Every article is based on sourced data: World Bank, IMF, foreign exchange offices, ministries and official bodies, research firms (Knight Frank, etc.), and real estate platforms publishing quantified reports. Sources are cited within articles, and figures carry their date. When a figure is an estimate, we say so. When a figure cannot be verified, we say so rather than making one up.

Our content is updated regularly (at minimum every quarter for fees, rates, and prices that change quickly), and every article displays its publication date.

Editorial independence and transparency

Our analyses and rankings are established in full independence. The site is partly funded through affiliate links: some of the services we compare (in particular money transfer services) may pay us a commission upon subscription, at no extra cost to you. These links are identified as such in the relevant articles, and this commercial relationship never influences our analysis or the ranking of the services compared.

The editorial team

Our articles are written by economic journalists specialising in African economies, then reviewed before publication. The editorial team relies on the official sources cited above and applies the same standard of verification to all content, regardless of subject.
