FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
{Lagos, Nigeria, February 1st, 2023} – Africa’s Icons of Trade and Mobility is the second issue of Supply Chain Africa’s e-magazine.
Supply Chain Africa has launched its second magazine edition, Africa’s Icons of Trade and Mobility on 26th December 2022. This follows the release of its premiere issue, The Covinnovation on the 18th of July, 2022.
The theme of this edition, Africa’s Icons of Trade and Mobility, is Supply Chain Africa newsroom’s classification of Africa’s supply chain leaders. These spotlighted “Big 10” brands are masters and common names in the logistics and procurement sector in Africa and are shortlisted based on criteria designed by the Supply Chain Africa newsroom.
In addition to the headline story, The Big 10, this edition also features a story on Rwanda, the country spotlight for this edition and the innovations, economics, business, landmarks and supply chain infrastructure of the country and why it has come to be tagged, “Africa’s Singapore”.
A female-focused story on how the African government and corporations can enable underserved women-owned entrepreneurs on the continent will also feature in this edition.
Elaborating on the condition of funding women-owned businesses in Africa, Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of Supply Chain Africa said, “Although public procurement comprises 30 to 40 percent of GDP in developing countries, only one per cent of the $11 trillion spent annually on public procurement is awarded to women-owned businesses.”
Sharing his thoughts in a recent article on Africa’s mobility and transportation systems in Africa, Maj. Adebayo Adeleke, CEO, and Founder of Supply Chain Africa said that, “supply chain will be the frontier for wealth creation in Nigeria and Africa as we move into the economy of the future on the continent.
